THE AJD ROUND ROBIN

For members of AJD Groups only

Do you want to have some fun? The most exciting part of stamp collecting is receiving an envelope with the packet of stamps in the mail.  The real joy begins when you open the envelope and find out the different stamps that you might not expect.  In order for it to be enjoyable, the following rules need to be adhered to:

DESCRIPTION
This is a method that certain club member utilize to exchange stamps among themselves.  It operates very simply by circulating a packet of stamps to participating members.  When you receive the packet, you simply review the stamps, keep what you like for your collection, replace those you kept with an equal number of stamps of similar quality, and send the packet and the mailing list on to the next person on the mailing list.

TIMING
Because we have so many packets in circulation at the same time, you can expect to receive a packet for review about every 8 to 10 weeks.  Of course this depends upon everyone passing the packet along in a reasonable amount of time.  If even one person holds up the progress of a packet it could take considerably longer.

MEMBERSHIP
In order to become a member you must be approved by Zita Demaree, owner/founder of the AJD Groups. You need to be an active member of AJD for a month and subsequently have an activity post on the club message board. It requires your Username, Name, Address, and Collecting preferences. My e-mail address is ajdemaree@yahoo.com. Once the request has been approved, it will be added to the Round Robin Master List and your name will be forwarded to the Host. The Host will initiates each Round Robin packet and prepares the mailing list. As Zita is the central Round Robin manager, other hosts can prepare Round Robin packets from the mailing list.

PROTOCOLS
1 . When you receive the selection of stamps, select those that you want for your collection and replace the stamps you keep with stamps of equal or better value, preferably commemorative stamps. Please avoid including damaged stamps or a high number of duplicates. When adding stamps, please match the preference of the next person receiving the packet and send them something interesting for their collection.

2. As we are an international club, all members of the Round Robin must be willing to send and receive stamps from other countries.

3. Move the packet along in a timely manner. Please try to send the envelope within 3 days to the next person on the list. Remember, other people are anxious to receive it.

4. Insure you have used sufficient postage.  It would be nice to use attractive commemorative stamps and a nice envelope for possible cover collection.

5. Record the number of stamps you keep on the mailing list.

6. Once you receive the Round Robin envelope and the moment you mail it to the next person on the list, please post a message AJD STAMPERS CLUB

7. All Round Robin participants are expected to participate in the message board posting.  It can be a participation of stamp issues and discussion, post stamps links or stamp stories, trading requests, contest participation, etc.

8. Any Round Robin participants who do not send stamps to the next person will be dropped from the Round Robin.  Any claims of not receiving the Round Robin envelope forwarded for couple of times will also becomes to be dropped from the Round Robin.

9. Those participants that we have not heard from for awhile and with no activity on the message board or clubs will be dropped from the Round Robin. Activity includes the message post when you receive or send the RR.
